Serving in the California State Guard as a JAG officer provided me with the opportunity to take on several leadership roles throughout my military career. My time as a JAG officer helped me become a better leader in the courtroom by providing me with valuable leadership experience prior to taking the bench. And, of course, the military values of honor, duty, and personal integrity translate directly into a judge's role of promoting fairness and justice.

My service in the California State Guard is a source of great pride for me. The opportunity to serve in uniform alongside some of the most talented lawyers in California while supporting servicemembers and their families is something I will always cherish.
