LA Superior Court closes Spring Street Courthouse Wednesday over water damage

Hearings and matters scheduled for Wednesday, February 4, in Superior Court departments at the Spring Street Courthouse may be continued, conducted remotely, or moved to the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.

Los Angeles County Superior Court suspended operations at its Spring Street Courthouse on Wednesday due to water damage.

The courthouse at 312 N. Spring Street is closed as a safety precaution while officials assess damage from a water leak and ongoing remediation efforts, according to a court statement.

Hearings and matters scheduled for Wednesday, February 4, in Superior Court departments at the Spring Street Courthouse may be continued, conducted remotely, or moved to the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, the court advised. Parties are encouraged to appear remotely for their matters to check in with court staff regarding their scheduled matters.

The court leases the building from the U.S. General Services Administration and is working with the GSA and the Judicial Council of California to evaluate whether the courthouse is safe for court users, staff and judicial officers.

The court did not indicate when operations might resume at the location.
