Spring Street Courthouse to remain closed Thursday

Hearings and matters scheduled for Thursday at the Spring Street Courthouse may be continued, conducted remotely or moved to the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. The court is encouraging parties to appear remotely to check in with staff about their scheduled matters.

The Spring Street Courthouse will remain closed through Thursday as officials continue assessing water damage at the facility, according to an announcement from the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The courthouse will remain closed as a safety precaution while the court works with the U.S. General Services Administration and the Judicial Council of California to address ongoing issues from a water leak, according to a court statement.

Officials have not yet determined whether the courthouse is safe for court users, staff and judicial officers. Water damage was identified in Department 10 on the first floor.
