LOS ANGELES - Members of the legal community who are also accomplished musicians will have a rare opportunity to perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

The Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic, Legal Voices and Gary Greene, Esq. & His Big Band of Barristers are holding auditions for advanced instrumentalists and vocalists ahead of their June 20, 2026, concert at the downtown Los Angeles landmark.

Founded in 2009 by attorney and conductor Gary S. Greene of Beverly Hills, the LA Lawyers Philharmonic has evolved from a small group of musically inclined lawyers into what the Los Angeles City Council has proclaimed "LA's Only Legal Orchestra." The ensemble -- made up of lawyers, judges, law students and legal staff -- performs at a professional level while raising funds for charitable causes.

"We are excited to welcome new members and to continue to showcase the talent of the legal community," Greene said in a press release. "We believe that music has the power to bring people together, and we are proud to share our passion for music with audiences in the finest concert venues."

Auditions are open to all instrumentalists and vocalists, with particular need for piccolo, oboe, trombone, tuba, violin, viola, string bass and singers.

Since its first rehearsal on Jan. 19, 2009, the orchestra and its companion ensembles have performed more than 100 concerts at venues including the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, UCLA's Royce Hall, the Shrine Auditorium and even the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The chorus, Legal Voices, debuted at Disney Hall in 2011 with a performance of the "Ode to Joy" from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. The Big Band of Barristers won first place in the American Bar Association's national "Battle of the Lawyer Bands" competition and has been dubbed "America's #1 Legal Band."

The nonprofit organizations, whose members volunteer their time and pay no membership fees, have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for groups including Bet Tzedek Legal Services, the American Diabetes Association, City of Hope and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
