As a member of Judicate West's Appellate Practice Group, Justice Bedsworth provides private appellate consultation to attorneys handling complex appeals, informed by decades of experience on the appellate bench. He provides strategic guidance on evaluating potential appeals, identifying key legal issues, reviewing briefs, and preparing for oral argument through moot court sessions. He is also available for mediation of matters where appeals are pending or contemplated.

Justice Bedsworth retired in October 2024 after 27 years as an Associate Justice on the California Fourth District Court of Appeal. The longest-serving justice in the history of the court's Division Three, he authored more than 220 published opinions and over 2,000 additional decisions across a wide range of civil and criminal matters. Earlier in his judicial career, he served for 10 years on the Orange County Superior Court.

Before joining the bench, Justice Bedsworth built his legal career at the Orange County District Attorney's Office, where he served as a trial deputy, appellate attorney, and managing attorney overseeing the law and motion and appellate divisions.

Highly regarded throughout the legal community, Justice Bedsworth has received numerous honors recognizing his contributions to the judiciary, including the California Judicial Council's Distinguished Service Award. His depth of appellate knowledge and practical perspective make him a valuable resource for attorneys seeking clarity, strategic feedback, and insight into the appellate process.
