Judge Wohlfeil joins Judicate West following nearly two decades on the San Diego County Superior Court bench and more than 40 years of legal experience. Widely respected for his fairness, preparation, and judicial temperament, he developed a reputation for thoughtfully managing complex disputes and helping parties reach meaningful resolutions.

During his time in the Civil Division, Judge Wohlfeil presided over thousands of matters spanning employment, real estate, insurance, business disputes, personal injury, and related torts. He conducted hundreds of settlement conferences and became known among attorneys for his patient, diligent, and even-handed approach. Attorneys frequently noted his ability to quickly grasp both the legal issues and the underlying facts, enabling him to help parties realistically evaluate their cases and explore productive paths to settlement.

Prior to his appointment to the bench in 2007, Judge Wohlfeil spent 25 years in private practice as an accomplished trial lawyer and principal at Boudreau, Albert & Wohlfeil. A member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), he obtained multiple seven- and eight-figure jury verdicts and received five Outstanding Trial Lawyer awards from the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego.

As a mediator and arbitrator, Judge Wohlfeil brings the same thoughtful preparation, patience, and commitment to fairness that defined his judicial career, working closely with parties to help them reach practical and lasting resolutions.
