Giants' GC Led Effort to Block Team's Move

In the summer of 1992, San Francisco City Attorney Louise Renne drafted Jack Bair from Farella Braun + Martel to work in her office. In short order, the San Francisco Giants announced they were moving to Florida, and Renne assigned Bair to stop the move. The ensuing struggle sparked litigation and congressional hearings over Major League Baseball's exemption from federal antitrust laws.
