John L.G. Whittle comes from a long line of Virginia lawyers. His great-grandfather, Stafford Whittle Sr., once headed the Virginia Supreme Court, and his grandfather, Kennon Caithness Whittle, sat on the same court 50 years later. His mother and uncle also are lawyers.
