Running on Empty in Lean Times

The bad economy has forced Leonard J. McGill, general counsel of an RV and mobile home manufacturing company, Fleetwood Enterprises, to trim his in-house staff to just three people. Meanwhile, he said, law firms seem more focused on profits per partner than the interests of their clients.

It's been a rough couple of years for Riverside-based Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. The manufactured housing and recreational vehicle mammoth has seen its business affected by the housing crisis, rising fuel costs and the credit crunch.
