Not many 28-year-olds have earned the title of general counsel. And not many high school seniors have had a day named after them for their contributions to the local community. For attorney Thuy Thi Nguyen, both accomplishments pepper her resume.

Since 2003, Nguyen has been a one-woman legal team at the Peralta Community College District that includes four community colleges in Oakland, Alameda and Berkeley.
