Attorneys appearing before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Richard L. Fruin better have a good reason before they ask for a continuance.

His Dept. 15 courtroom is one of the busiest in the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Downtown Los Angeles, with an average of around 670 civil cases on calendar. Fruin said he tries to clear about 50 cases a month, so the expectation is high to resolve issues and avoid delays.
