LA Judge Mary Ann Murphy loves research so much that she has her own library

Almost a decade ago, Superior Court Judge Mary Ann Murphy requested an assignment change from independent calendar to trial court.

"As watching good attorneys try cases goes," she said in a recent interview, "it is the best ticket in town."

Murphy has presided over hundreds of personal injury, breach of contract, or insurance fraud lawsuits.
