Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Kinna Patel Crocker's first view of a U.S. courtroom came at age 16 when she took the oath to become an American citizen.

Her Indian parents brought her to the U.S. from London two years after her birth there. When she was a teen, her naturalization ceremony took place in a small courthouse in Greeneville, Tennessee.
