VISALIA - Tulare County Superior Court Judge Antonio Reyes remembers vividly the jarring moment that led him toward a legal career. Reyes, then 6 years old, was asleep in his central Los Angeles home when a police officer burst in, wrested Reyes' father from slumber and pulled him into the street outside where, Reyes says, the officer beat him.
