SAN FRANCISCO - Mary E. Wiss expressed some surprise late last year when she was asked to take over a complex courtroom in San Francisco County, one of the highest profile positions in its superior court.
The position became vacant when longtime complex Judge John E. Munter announced his retirement in November.
