VISTA - Judge Steven E. Stone grew up in a home where public service was the watchword.
"It was something you should strive for," Stone said.
His father, Harry W. Stone, is former director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, and his mother, retired university professor Barbara S. Stone, served on the Little Hoover Commission, a state oversight agency.
