LOS ANGELES - On a trip to England this summer, Commissioner Alan Friedenthal noticed an engraving above the entrance to the Cambridge Crown Court. The etched dictum denoted one of four hallowed duties entrusted to the country's judiciary: "Protect the Vulnerable."
