BURBANK - A piece of printer paper taped to the doors leading into Superior Court Judge Patrick Hegarty's courtroom ticks off a dress code. Don't come into the courtroom wearing shorts or tank tops, among other items.
But those rules aren't coming from the judge himself. He really couldn't care less about how a criminal defendant is dressed, as long as the person shows up for their hearing.
