LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County Superior Court Commissioner Anthony S. Jones' old courtroom is known as the ROC, short for the Restraining Order Center.

The acronym couldn't be more apropos. Jones has spent the past 17 years responding to requests for judicial intervention in an age-old but traditionally hidden crime: domestic violence.
