RIVERSIDE - U.S. District Judge Virginia A. Phillips expected she'd face some criticism following her decision to overturn the statute banning gays from serving openly in the military. But she didn't bargain on getting a barrage of threatening phone calls, hateful letters and even pornography sent to her mailbox.
