BAKERSFIELD - For Judge Colette M. Humphrey, cranking through her busy felony pre-preliminary hearing calendar means tossing a lot of formalities out the window. She lets attorneys walk around the courtroom while she's on the bench and doesn't mind if lawyers chat with their clients in the jury box while she's talking.
