SACRAMENTO - Normally known as a mild-mannered judge, Raymond M. Cadei was recently thrust into the spotlight when he decided the fate of a new arena for the Sacramento Kings basketball team.

"I was famous for three days," he said.

His task was to decide whether the city could use eminent domain to add land currently underneath a defunct Macy's store to the stadium's footprint.
