VAN NUYS - Two months ago, as part of the ongoing reorganization of Southern California courts amid deep budget cuts, Frank J. Johnson was handed a new calendar assignment: trial court. Johnson will be assigned a trial from downtown Los Angeles, focus exclusively on the matter and, four or five days later, close the book on it.
