LOS ANGELES - Commissioner William Sadler just completed his first year on the Los
Angeles County Superior Court after 26 years defending major felonies with the public
defender's office. But his first legal case goes further back, to when he was 11.
Sadler contracted rheumatoid arthritis when he was 4, causing him to walk with a noticeable
