BAKERSFIELD - Her first day on the bench, Judge Raymonda Burnham Marquez tackled a misdemeanor drunken driving trial that involved a couple of green attorneys and long-winded expert witnesses.

Unable to endure the unbridled testimony, Marquez suddenly blurted out "Objection! No question pending."
