FAIRFIELD - William J. Pendergast didn't decide to pursue a law career based on a single incident. But the conviction of his brother for kidnapping and robbery helped spur an interest.
"I thought, if I'm a lawyer I might be able to assist him in parole [proceedings]," said Pendergast, now a Solano County Superior Court commissioner sitting in Fairfield.
