OAKLAND - Some judges grapple with ruling against attorneys they're friendly with off the bench. Alameda County Superior Court Judge Allan D. Hymer doesn't.

In dealing with an attorney from either side, Hymer said he could be making friendly conversation and go right back to the bench and rule against them.
