WEST COVINA - Superior Court Judge Jon Takasugi's black robes are too wide around the middle and the sleeves are too short. And that's just the way he likes them.

He inherited the robes from his father, the late-U.S. District Judge Robert M. Takasugi, who spent 33 years on the federal bench.

"I wear them with tremendous pride," Jon Takasugi said. "He was a great judge."
