LOS ANGELES — After spending her entire legal and judicial career in criminal law, Judge Elaine Lu wanted to try her hand at something different — and did she get it.
Since last June she has been one of only two judges on the Los Angeles County Superior Court who oversees a non-collections limited civil court with cases up to $25,000.
