LOS ANGELES - Superior Court Judge Hank M. Goldberg, who presides over the county's central district family law settlement court, said that when he meets with parties for mandatory settlement conferences, he likes to ask attorneys whether they'll guarantee their clients a result at trial. That question, Goldberg said, is usually good for a laugh.
