INGLEWOOD - John V. Meigs has eased up a bit on certain aspects of courtroom protocol after 25 years as both a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge and Inglewood Municipal Court commissioner.

"When I first came on the bench, I think I was a lot more formal," said Meigs, a former U.S. Army captain who earned a Bronze Star and an Army Commendation Medal for his service during the Vietnam War.
