SACRAMENTO - U.S. District Judge William Shubb's father started as a paper boy at a newspaper in the East Bay, and moved up to truck driver and then circulation manager. He retired once, but came back working for the union. After 20 years, the older Shubb retired again. But the next day, he was back at work.
