SACRAMENTO - Growing up on Long Island, Sacramento County Superior Court Judge James Arguelles knew he didn't want work that would mean commuting on crowded trains into New York City. Instead, he decided to cram himself into a different tight spot - a nuclear weapon-bearing submarine traveling around the North Atlantic Ocean.
