TORRANCE - Judge David Sotelo said he became intrigued with the study of philosophy at an early age.
The son of a Roman Catholic immigrant-turned-Protestant minister, Sotelo spent most of his adolescence in San Francisco's Mission District during the height of the counterculture movement.
