SAN FRANCISCO - It was a culture shock the first time Suzanne R. Bolanos set foot on the campus of Yale Law School. The daughter of a single mother from Oakland enrolled as one of 170 elite students from around the world. Many of her peers in the Class of '89 had been prepped for law school from birth, entering with great expectations.
