VALLEJO - Commissioner David Haet has spent nearly a quarter century on the Solano County bench. But he almost didn't go into law at all.

"I spent most of my summers during law school and then a longer time after working for the National Park Service up in Montana," he said. "That almost snagged me - I almost said, 'Eh, do I really want to practice law?'
