A Mother's Touch

FONTANA - Judge Uhler is on the phone in chambers with her son.

"That's great news," she says into the receiver.

It turns out her son, Jerrod, 14, has just turned his failing grade in Spanish into a 74 percent, a pass.

She pivots and offers her outstretched palm.

"Now you give me a high five."
