No Judge Judy

Commissioner Graciela L. Freixes, who was elected a Los Angeles County Superior Court commissioner last year, said her new assignment handling small claims cases is a far cry from her previous role defending high-stakes medical malpractice suits. But with the diversity of small claims cases and her ability to interact with her pro per litigants, ranging from a dominatrix to an unhappy game-show audience member, she has no desire to go back.
