RIVERSIDE - Judge Sunshine Sykes grew up in two worlds and draws on both as she supervises a civil calendar in Riverside County Superior Court.

She was born in Tuba City, Arizona to teen-aged parents, her mother a Navaho and her father the white son of the Indian boarding school superintendent on the Navaho Reservation. Both parents were able to attend the University of Arizona and get master's degrees. The... (continued)
