U.S. Navy lieutenant, 1954-55; private practice, Reno, Nevada, 1958-77; deputy attorney general, State of Nevada; general counsel, University of Nevada System, 1972-76; civilian aide, secretary of the U.S. Army, 1977; member, Judicial Conference of the United States, 1996-2000; nominated August 1977, confirmed September 1977, senior status January 2002. Retired 2017. Died October 2019.
