In 2016, California courts rendered a number of interesting insurance coverage decisions.
In Advent, Inc. v. National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh, 2016 DJDAR 12038 (Dec. 6, 2016), an insurer paid a settlement of a lawsuit against an insured and sought contribution from another insurer. That insurer refused, arguing that it had not been established that the insured was actually liable.
