Will CFPB director's work be nullified?

A large portion of Richard Cordray's work as Consumer Financial Protection Bureau director could soon be scrapped because of a defect in his appointment and the agency's slipshod efforts to rectify it.

Recent articles in the legal press have speculated as to whether Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Richard Cordray can and will be fired come Jan. 20. But a certioriari petition currently pending before the U.S. Supreme Court in Gordon v. CFPB poses a more compelling question: Will a large fraction of Cordray's work as director soon be nullified because of a defect in his original appointment and the agency's slipshod efforts to rectify it?
