Cooley Godward: SPORTING GOODS SITES SCORE BIG WITH MERGER

Global Sports Inc. is acquiring online sporting goods store Fogdog Inc. in a cash and stock deal valued at $42.5 million. Global Sports, based in King of Prussia, Pa., maintains online sales sites for sporting good chains, such as the Athlete's Foot and the Sports Authority. Meanwhile, Redwood City's Fogdog offers more than 600 brands of sports apparel, footwear and equipment.
