California environmental regulators breathed a sigh of relief last month, when the U.S. Supreme Court declined to review litigation at the heart of California's pioneering efforts to reduce the state's greenhouse gas emissions. The Supreme Court's denial of certiorari in Rocky Mountain Farmers Union v. Corey leaves intact a 2013 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision upholding the constitutionality of California's low-carbon fuel standard.
