DMV Hearings Circumvent the Constitution
By Edwin B. Stegman. Department of Motor Vehicles' driving-under-the-influence license-suspension hearings are a travesty of justice. DUI defense lawyers refer to the department's license-revocation proceedings as the "DUI exception to the Constitution." They are unfair, unjust and in my opinion violate the California and U.S. constitutions.
