9th Circuit will not dismiss copyright appeal in “monkey selfie” lawsuit
The federal court of appeals declined to dismiss a dispute between a crested macaque and a photographer whose camera the curious monkey used to snap a “selfie,” signaling that it is ready to issue circuit-wide precedent on whether animals have standing to pursue copyright clams.
