California Gov. Jerry Brown delivered his final State of the State address in January, and on Friday reached his final state budget settlement.

SACRAMENTO -- The Commission on Judicial Performance appeared to have dodged a bullet on Friday when a proposed $500,000 cut to the agency failed to make it into Gov. Jerry Brown's final budget.

Brown and legislative leaders announced a budget deal in the morning which preserved gains made by the courts and the state Department of Justice in earlier rounds of budget negotiations.
