SANTA ANA -- A new bankruptcy filing from Michael J. Avenatti that derailed a long-awaited judgment debtor exam on Friday could prompt another courtroom battle this week as his former partners challenge its validity, with a newly appointed receiver saying the troubled attorney filed it against his wishes.
