Governor Newsom issues order seeking to end new fracking permits
On Sept. 23, Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an executive order asking the California Legislature to end the issuance of new hydraulic fracturing permits by 2024. Newsom touted the move as “symbolic” and “a bold and big step.”
