Jan 5 hearing set on naming trustee for Girardi assets

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Barry Russell set the Jan. 5 hearing date on Christmas Eve, the same day attorney Andrew Goodman of Goodman Law Offices APC filed identical motions in two cases asking Russell to appoint an interim trustee to handle Girardi's finances. Goodman also filed applications to expedite a hearing date for the motions.

A federal bankruptcy judge has expedited a hearing to decide whether a trustee will be tasked with handling the finances of attorney Thomas V. Girardi and his firm, which are facing litigation over what one of the firm's lenders called Girardi's "financial house of cards."
